It’s been months since I last updated this blog and during those months, I hardly picked up my brushes to paint too. Blogging and painting are the aspects of my life that suffered so much lately and although I am not happy about me not having time for these hobbies, I can’t complain because the offline aspect of life sort of took off. I am going out and meeting my friends more often. I take my son to some classes we can do together and most importantly, I started yoga and I looooove it!
When 2014 came, one of the things that I wrote in my new year’s resolution list is “to create.” It does not matter what as long as I keep my hands busy. First I redecorated my son’s room from a baby’s room to a boy’s room. I painted the walls myself and I am quite happy with the result but after painting the walls, putting up some wallpaper, and installing new furniture, I thought, my son’s room could use some painted art. This prompted me to pick up my brushes again. I wouldn’t, of course, hang any fashion illustration in my son’s room so I am now trying my hand at abstract art. Maybe one day, when I finally able to create a work worth hanging on his wall, I’d write about it here. For now, I will share some fashion illustrations I did recently.
When I was painting this first one, I got so excited and posted a snap shot of it on WeChat. The following day, I saw that Angel wrote about it in her blog. She was so excited and happy about it too. You can read her blog post here.
This illustration is also based on Angel although this one looks nothing like her at all. She does yoga too and there are plenty other nice photos of her in yoga poses but as I am still not skilled in drawing the human form, I dare not illustrate complicated poses yet. Maybe someday ☺
